His lack of prolificness cannot be ignored and it does knock him down a few notches given how much his competition plays ball these days
it only knocks him down temporarily imo
all it takes is one kendrick album to erase all this talk

Kendrick isn’t top 5 of his generation. Yes, he makes great albums but so does his competition, and they play FAR more games than he does. Plus the real top 5 have a great legacy in the actual hiphop community. Kendrick doesn’t have much of any sons in the game right now.

Like I’m not sure how Kendrick can keep his standing when guys like Cole and Drake are dropping consistently
This is a new era, this is the climate that we’re in and if you’re not playing ball then that is a knock against you I feel
We criticize CLB, off season, their features etc but that’s the risk those guys take because they’re playing ball they’re playing for history they aren’t resting on their past victories.

That logic doesn't apply lol. My criticism of Kendrick is that he doesn't NEED 5 years to craft a great project. He's proven that multiple times.
Also, Jay went on an 13-album/9 year run already. He's solidified in that.
