Jay-Z is widely regarded as the one of the greatest rapper of all time and he also knows how to seize opportunity.

However, some people have called him a snake and has questioned his motives for the black community.

Here's a quick backstory of how he became in charge of the Superbowl half time show:

Colin Kaepernick started kneeling in protest of police brutality and racial inequality. This caused a huge uproar and controversy.

Alot of NFL advertisers didn't like this and threatened to pull their money.

Jay-z, who has future aspirations to own an NFL team and also has Roc Nation sports, saw an opportunity.

If he can work with Kaepernick to try to resolve this, Roger Goodell (NFL Commissioner) would owe him one. He wanted a mediator role.

Jay-Z publicly supported Black NFL players and called out the way they were being condemned and ostracized for peacefully protesting against racial injustice.

Goodell has respect for Jay and also sees this as an opportunity to move past the protesting s*** because it's not good for business.

Through Robert Kraft's help, Jay-Z and Roc Nation got involved with Rodger Goodell, eventually inking a five year, $25-million deal with the league aimed at revamping the Super Bowl halftime show and amplifying the NFL's social justice agenda.

Jay is now responsible for who he performs at the half time show. He's had Rihanna, Dr Dre, 50 Cent, Eminem, and Usher perform.

But now he's facing backlash for choosing Kendrick over Lil' Wayne.

Wayne has been wanting this all year and Hov has a relationship with Wayne ? Did he snake Wayne ???

How embarrassing for the black community.

We get to produce a Grammy event and Will slaps Chris
We get to manage superbowl halftime now the losers are angry over non-existent hometown rules.

Let it go. Support our own.

Technically he wasn’t responsible for 50. He tried to block 50 from performing. Em said he wouldn’t do it if 50 couldn’t

why you think his lips was so dry that day and why you think he refused to use beyonce own lip balm that is lost at the bottom of her purse making it a hassle

But yeah always thought Jay had snake tendencies. Although I know Wayne talked s*** on his wife so can’t blame him. BUT with the superbowl in New Orleans, feel like they could of squashed it to get us a legendary New Orleans cultural performance

    exactly

    that's some snake s***

Why wouldn't you want 50 to perform?

    Is that not odd?

Is it possible he's also doing the same thing to Wayne because of his past issue with Birdman and Drake

Its not that he didnt want 50 to perform its that Em did lol, it wasnt in the super bowl planners at first

Em literally just has that big of a pull for white people and hes the only person ever that changed a super bowl plan n set up, and it was basically last minute too

It had nothing to do with Jay regarding 50, positive or negative, its that Em changed it when no one was thinking of 50 in the 1st place

Jay-Z makes hundreds of millions, then tells people they need to use his inferior streaming app vs his competitors. He equates the injustice that happened to Freddie Gray, which resulted in his death, with the need to support his business ventures. Because we have to "support our own".

Then he sells Tidal and keeps the cash for himself and his white investors. "Support our own" made him rich, while everyone else wasted their time.

Jay-Z snaked his way into controlling the Super Bowl halftime show by throwing Colin Kaepernick under the bus, telling everyone it was time to move on. "Support our own" allowed one Black man to undermine the leverage another Black man built, resulting in the Kaepernick blackball being successful. Meanwhile, Jay-Z made more money on the back of his sacrafices and advanced his own personal ambitions.

Now that we "supported our own" to screw other another black man he's in a position to help highlight the incredible heritage of one of hip-hop's greatest artosts from where he was born and raised. Instead "support own own" gives the performance to a non-legacy rapper simply because he had one hit dissing the percieved no 1 rapper. This, despite the fact that the following year was in L.A., and Jay-Z could have simply let Kendirck do it then and show Wayne the respect he's earned since we have "supported our own" to help ensure "our own" get the recognition they have grinded hard to earn.

Jay-Z is a snake, and "support our own" is a con game weaponized by Black capitalists to coerce other black people into helping them exploit others, which includes other black people.
