Summer 2013 - Summer 2019.
Worked at a beach club. Best job of my life. Goofed off with my friends every summer. Oh how i miss it
3 months working at a snow cone shack to make bread before college
All I’d saved up lasted like 3 weeks max
4 months at barnes & noble
first job after hs was a supermarket. 7.25 per hour.
did it for like 6 months and then the managers started asking me to go above and beyond, like having me do other parts of the store for no extra while the full time people were making like 14hr.
and the whopping 20c "bonus" for learning to be a cashier was hilarious. but i enjoyed and like most of the people.
also one of my 5 days would only be 7 1/2 hours to prevent them from making me full time.
First job was bagging groceries at Publix when I was 14. Was there about 9 months until my dad made me quit because my grades were slipping.
Grades never really came back up either, no matter how much he hit or punished me. He should have let me just do my work thing. Some kids just aren’t meant to be in standardized classes.
I was smart, took like half Ap classes and the other half advanced honors, but I sucked at having the drive to do all the homework and projects.
In hindsight, I probably could have did good and retained my job had I took all standard classes. However, I always challenged myself even when I knew it was dumb to.
