This question might come off as absurd to some of y’all since y’all were probably introduced to hip hop from a very small age by your family. But growing up I only listened to whatever gospel song my momma played in the car. I didn’t start following hip hop or any secular music until I was around 11-12 years old (2010). So I’ve been a hip hop fan for 11 years, which might seem small to y’all but it feels like a big deal to me
Since I was like 6-7, I remember watching Fuse TV and all the HipHop related music video channels during the weekend when I had nothing to do.
2013 was when i first was getting into kanye before then the only rap albums i had listened to were 36 Chambers and 3 Feet High and Rising.
College Dropout and WOLF were heavily influential in me falling in love with the genre.
As early as I can remember. Grew up on the s***. I guess I ain’t really start following until about 10-12

My uncle was spamming that Get Rich or Die Tryin joint. 50 and Jeezy put me on since I was a youngin
my older sister came back from some summer program in NC with all these No Limit cds. she hid them under her bed and my dad found them and threw them all out mad as s***. that must’ve been like ‘98-‘99.
I been hooked ever since.
I guess I just grew up on it, but not even through my parents, I was just an Internet kid since Gr 4 and naturally gravitated towards it
Since my dad put his Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash, and Beastie Boys cassettes in while driving me to kindergarten
