A country artist would never say this about their genre. “When I want a nice cry, I listen to Aretha Franklin.”

Beerbongs & Bentleys is way more of a pop/rock album than it is a rap album. And it came out after he said this

And? Doesn’t change the fact he’s disrespectful

He does not name a relevant artist of another genre but he is judging the current state of hip hop.

    Still a wildly incorrect statement

When will the people put respect on postys name for how good of an album Beerbongs & Bentleys really is

    It’s ok

Got a few hits like Psycho Rockstar and Candy Paint

But overall it’s just soulless pop rap

  • wish the new album were B&B on steroids, new album feels it would've fit better dropping in mid-January

"There’s great hip-hop songs where they talk about life and they spit that real sh*t, but right now, there’s not a lot of people talking about real sh*t. Whenever I want to cry, whenever I want to sit down and have a nice cry, I’ll listen to some Bob Dylan."

It sounds like he doesn’t know hip hop has emotional songs and he thinks it’s just bangers? That’s what I read

  • Jun 5, 2022

Pac gets me more emotional than Bob Dylan

They don’t realize (or maybe they do) it just projects their own feelings about the genre to everyone else. That’s all it is 😂. If that’s what you take from it fine but don’t just start generalizing bc ur in a bubble

The idea a lot of ppl and I get from this quote is that Post views hip hop as a tool to become famous and doesn’t actually love it

That’s why KTT judged Miley Cyrus and Billie Eilish too when they said similar things (both very influenced by hip hop especially Miley in her thot era)

To be fair the Beastie Boys helped make hip hop what it is today and theyve always shown respect to the genre
