He was still the highest selling and touring artist in 2014. That’s 15 years after his major label debut.
He did take those years off in between but he basically got right back at it numbers wise.
How do you judge the length of his run??
Imo 1999-2004 musically anything after that is just a machine at this point just making sure this man stay number one wether it’s good or trash
If by run, you mean him putting up big numbers, that technically never stopped for him.
If you mean his prime, 1999-2003 is widely deemed to be prime Eminem. Maybe 1999-2005 if you factor in his role in G-Unit's rise and Curtain Calls.
After that, Eminem has been very inconsistent and hit or miss to the degree where it's hard to define if he hit a new prime or not. One could argue MTBMB or even TDOSS was a new prime for him but even they saw a sharp decline from his prime music except for technical rapping which has improved for him.
But, overall, Eminem is like the Beatles of rap. He's going to be able to put up numbers in his 60's if he wants like Paul McCartney. He won't really be seen as THAT guy in rap like he used to though.
Imagine bruh don’t take a hiatus…
Would probably have an even stronger Wayne and Kanye tbh cause Eminem would’ve competed.

Even his prime is kinda hard to go back to now

Do we even get a Drake with Wayne competing against them 2 and 50 was still hot and a southern legend was putting in work (TI)?
Em bowing out really let the new gen flourish
1999-2002 would be his prime
But he had a crazy amount of success from 2010-2013 as well.
Recovery probably his most well known work outside of MMLP/TES and MMLP2 was quite successful in its own right as well.
99-04
09-13
when radio was king, those eminem/rihana songs were being rinsed 24/7 during the 09-13 period
I heard he often runs in the annual Detroit half-marathon so that's about 13 miles.
Hope this helps!
1999-2003 was his prime run. Encore and the mid-00s pill era had too much s***ty music to be considered part of his prime.
I consider 2009 to be a cult classic era and he did gain new mainstream attention in 2010 with Recovery which relaunched his career in the 2010s.
But he really forgot how to rap during the 2012-2017 period and created some really horrible off-beat flows and music at this time.
The 2020s are a new victory lap era at this point. He’s a legend and he has nothing left to prove and I think he’s realized that. MTBMB/TDOSS has some solid production, some more laid back flows, and, at least on Death of Slim Shady, some surprisingly decent hook game again.
