s*** im 23 and i only watch youtube
Yea but you probably engage in comments, for them it’s purely content and then they might try to act like a content creator too
No? Oldest Gen Alpha is pushing 15
Yea but they the 10 year olds aren’t engaging outside of just watching since most just started reading
Yea because they've made streamers tiktokkers and musicians the new celebrities now.
You could make an argument on that for sure, but overall, I believe the ugliness of real life has reared its head in such that these kids are being forced to sober up and realize that celebrity culture is nothing more than narcissism
This really isn’t true, I’m in Gen Z myself and celebrities definitely still matter to my generation
The vibes are way different tho compared to when the internet wasn't so ubiquitous.
I been doing my part idk about yall. Don’t follow any celebs on any social media. Don’t care about their personal lives. Don’t search for information about celebs beyond their actual work they put out.
Yea only “celebs” I follow are regular dudes with lots of money like Curren$y
You could make an argument on that for sure, but overall, I believe the ugliness of real life has reared its head in such that these kids are being forced to sober up and realize that celebrity culture is nothing more than narcissism
Especially since the jaded Millennials and older Gen Z are not scared to remove the veil 🫡 the day it was widely accepted that WWE is fake was when s*** changed to me
Already is lol. Gen Z does not give a f*** about who's in tinsel town
Sadly untrue their women still love them some popstars
I think, for them, streamers have taken over
You guys know Gen Z isnt only males right
You guys know Gen Z isnt only males right
Girls watch streamers too lol but you're right. How could I forget about Taylor Swift and k-pop?
In many ways, celebrity culture it isn't what it used to be. Before the internet and paparazzi, celebrities existed in sort of their own dimension, separate from commoners. The only time they were seen were in performances which were almost exclusively an upper class experience, only time they were heard from was very scarce interviews, or quotes in papers, we knew virtually nothing about their personal lives or childhoods like we do with Wikipedia. Seeing them really did feel like seeing a star up close. Your average persons interest in them was also more balanced because we didn't have social media to keep tabs on their every action, or the opportunity to create an online persona that revolved around stanning and shilling them. You might say they were held to a higher standard.
Already is lol. Gen Z does not give a f*** about who's in tinsel town
Go on any pop stars or movie stars social media page and you will see this is not facts brother
Especially since the jaded Millennials and older Gen Z are not scared to remove the veil 🫡 the day it was widely accepted that WWE is fake was when s*** changed to me
RT
by logging off and never returning to a fan forum based around a celebrity
Lmfao
You could make an argument on that for sure, but overall, I believe the ugliness of real life has reared its head in such that these kids are being forced to sober up and realize that celebrity culture is nothing more than narcissism
more tribalism than narcissism.
Go on any pop stars or movie stars social media page and you will see this is not facts brother
It's way less celebrity worship out here than it was back then in the gossip magazine pandemic and I stand by that hill
Sadly untrue their women still love them some popstars
This thread lowkey just showing some folks age and the bubble some other posters live in.
Folks today are still absolutely obsessed with celebs, just not the ones this site would pay attention to
It's way less celebrity worship out here than it was back then in the gossip magazine pandemic and I stand by that hill
Go make a twitter and say something negative about Taylor Swift and see how long it takes for them white girls to find your IP address
Sadly untrue their women still love them some popstars
Yeah I can see that. Chapell Roan, Charli, yeah I can see it
Gossip magazines got replaced by s*** like the Shade Room and other internet pop culture pages.
Celebrity worship is still there everything is just on the internet so you have more ways to avoid it
Go make a twitter and say something negative about Taylor Swift and see how long it takes for them white girls to find your IP address
