Well I'm going back to the Nike days
Nike Air Yeezy 2s were $250, the average price of an Adidas Yeezy right now lol

Yea but they were super limited and impossible to get
Yea but they were super limited and impossible to get
Yeah true
He sort of delivered on his availability claims
this the guy that rapped about selling overpriced shoes or else his family would starve right? Lol
He meant he needed to feed the next 50 generations of his grandchildren. Costs about 4 bil so we almost there
$200 is over priced
It kinda is when his whole s*** for years was “im gonna put fly s*** in Payless”
I get why they’re $200 but why did he make that his main selling point lmao knowing he’d never be able to do that
Well that's called business sir
$200 is reasonable
Not really
He could sell them at $50-70 and still probably be filthy rich, probably even moreso bc of the Shaq/K Mart effect.
And it’s Kanye so as long as everything else about Kanye stayed the same and they were hard they wouldn’t lose prestige
Actually that would be a pretty big move
How does the 2 even correlate
Moving his mom to Hollywood/her being “Kanye West mom” now put her in spotlight and in LA around that culture of never aging/beauty standards/etc and likely put that idea for an unnecessary procedure like that in her mind along with it not even being a possibility without Ye money
If he peaks being a Chicago music teacher or some s*** she doesn’t die from that and maybe still here to this day or at least until the other stuff that gets older blacks got her...I can see how bro went crazy

why say "never" when yeezy's potential is just now being more recognized than ever w/ these recent publications
His mom died from a tummy tuck he paid for, this whole materialistic s*** gonna haunt him forever
fig. 1

Because they’ve already calculated how they’re gonna get to 3 billion in next 10-15 years with current profit margins and a rapidly worsening economy
But nice thought would be cool if he did it
Yeezys are affordable
Thought they were still $300 the new 700s only $220 not bad

i'm just sayin that never is a stretch because never was the sentiment used to combat ye's ambition back when this was in its inception. i dunno what calculations you're referring to tho tbh -- if you could provide somethin of a source i'd be interested in how yeezy (the business) is planning its future

I’m assuming but businesses plan 5-10 years at a time
They can’t sell their s*** for $200 a pop for 6 years and then make decisions for the future based off their top product selling at over a 50% price reduction

fair, i don't have much of a business intuition or knowledge base but i'm inclined to agree w/ u. i interpreted the payless remarks to be not necessarily bout the 350 v2s or similar models, but instead a general goal for some of the brand's products in general. the powerphases for example are a more modest price, but they don't really got the cool factor of other yeezy products, admittedly, since they're basically a slight redesign of an older adidas shoe. i'd say the yeezy slides, too, but those seem to be pretty hit/miss whereas 350 v2s err more on the hits (least in silhouette, not always in colorway)
the clothing, however, has actually seen pretty decent drops in price over time. that'll def be somethin to watch imo
but i do see where ur comin from, n in regards to the 350 v2s n similar models that are currently around, i agree, they'll likely stay at their premium price.

This is such a terrible take

I mean Ye kinda talked about this himself on pinocchio story
He was technically a billionaire the day he registered brand YEEZY. Any sensible person at the time would've projected the value of a Kanye west shoe company well over a billion.
Jesus this thread is horrific
It'll never not amaze what is allowed to be said in this sxn vs others
It amazes me cause dude is on the front page dissing Ye dead mom and you'll catch a week ban for joking on 40 back in Drake sxn.
