James Gunn spoke on this. There are some directors in the MCU that probably aren’t as hands on as him tho

They give James more freedom tho and he’s also one of the few directors on the Marvel payroll that isn’t a complete hack like Jon Watts or the Russo’s.

with most of these Marvel films any time they cut to a fully cgi action sequence it feels like we just cut into an entirely different film. It never feels like a natural transition yet people want to gas the Russo’s as great action directors lol

This isn't really true for The Winter Soldier though.. And i'd say for a big part Civil War too.

Infinity War and Endgame is a different story, but those are movies filled with CGI, kind of inevitable

But overall I do agree, it is an open secret that Marvel has different directors that shoot the action scenes for some (if not most) of the directors, I do feel like this is changing since the last phase (except for Captain Marvel, and the Spider-Mans)

Damn the russos really might be hacks huh. Thought they deserved some merit cuz they had good direction but that wasn't even them?

This was kinda known. Only thing is that Marvel acts like they give the directors a huge creative space to do whatever they want but stuff like this is already done for them lol
