I do a lot but is it a oldhead thing. I think its crucial to show some kind of poetry for a rapper
But I believe its getting cared less lately

Depends on the music. Artist like Noname who have something to say and are more substantive then I don’t care as much.
Artist like Wayne who is more surface level but still are lyricist I would say would have to do it a little more often.
Then some artist like Lupe can do both very well. But even with Lupe his simple approach songs to me show his genius just as much.
Obviously don’t has to be good first and foremost but I value it way more than I value “the vibes and aesthetics maaaan”. I prefer punchlines and wordplay way more than the premier lines of songs being s*** like “bad b**** 50th floor eating hibachi”

A Lupe fan so yes highly.
It is kinda an old head thing because it's more about sounds now, but all these poetic devices show your rapping skills
I like allot but I get my dose from battle rappers.
The wordplays/double… from music rappers just don’t give the stank face
