like how important is it that a rapper is black and comes from the hood and is actually with the s***s for u to be a fan?

examples would be like cheif keef, nba youngboy, and future

examples of rappers who dont have that image would be drake or gambino or brickhampster

ps pls dont post my avi thank u

artists who are honest about who they are will always be better than artists who pretend to be something they're not

  • I think it matters as a culture that we support people who represent authenticity. Thats how we got Kanye. He wasnt a street nigga but still had a story to tell.

i feel like it's more about image and persona than content bc most new rappers don't have much content.
if you a kid from the suburbs making murder music and it slaps i'll listen
but it's another thing entirely to give yourself a false gangster image and backstory to seem cool to other kids when niggas really die for this s*** and throw their lives away for it in prison every day.

Being about what you talk about makes the music resonate more

But you donโ€™t have to be street to create legendary music

    Authenticity in general is important

  • Jan 14, 2020

depends on the artist and what they rap about
