Safe suburbs with great schools, low crime, and well educated residents 15-25 mins outside of Dallas and Houston (Katy, Sugar Land, Plano, The Woodlands, etc) will get you 3-5000 sq ft in a modern/renovated construction.

Often 4+ bedrooms with beautiful interiors, modern kitchens/bathrooms, and pools.

I’ve been looking at homes there for a while now but still deciding if it’s worth leaving NYC. Maybe when I start having kids.

What’s London like? I know it was one of the most expensive, at least a few years ago

If we’re talking specifically central London, it probably falls in between Hong Kong and New York. I’d guess around 250-320 sq ft.

That’s what everyone says but I won’t knock it til I try it

I imagine if you stay in the Houston/Dallas metro area it won’t be too terrible

I’m looking at other areas too but Texas definitely gives you the most bang for your buck when it comes to the house itself

The suburbs you listed are all very comfortable places to live (if u got the money like that of course)

But I’d get in earlier rather than later on the real estate thing, it’s not going to get any cheaper as more and more people’s revealed preferences lead them to move there

Feel that. It’s just such a big decision. I been in NYC my entire life and I wish I could stay here

I’m just at a point now where I’m married and we both want that picket fence and a backyard with a pool type s***. I’m well off but not enough for an 8 mil house in NYC metro.

I’d feel the same way about the huge change involved in moving to NYC from the suburbs of Texas so I get you lol
