I usually research lineups I visit and if the opener sounds interesting I'll come early for that

also at festivals would usually try to catch a couple random acts if possible

Only at festivals really but my best friends dad does it all the time. He’s a 70 year old white dude and randomly went to see Shabazz Palaces once I was jealous af 🤣

there's some venues or event series where you can pretty much trust their curating as well if they only have great acts

i thought not often now im thinking like every month or so i see a headliner i never heard of. not counting a big DJ or EDM type thing bc i barely know them

yeah lotta clubs or event spaces in ny always have “big” acts that ive never heard of but its always quality

I went to see The Neighbourhood years ago. Great show. The lead singer had 2 mics and one was hanging from the ceiling and he used that s*** as a swing while singing. Dope stuff lol

not a huge fan of NIN but the concert was a great experience. venue was half empty too, must've been 4000 people tops

pixies i love and sort of made me a fan for life although I go periods without listening to their music

Not often but its the best way to get introduced to an artist imo. I went from not liking an album to loving it after seeing it live
