If you have to ask how to be a better son for you mother, then you two clearly don't have a strong attachment bond. And that's something both of y'all need to work on together.
You have to humble yourself to her. When my momma yells at me (for XYZ), I never talk back to her ever, just calmly explain myself when she done. Even with my pops to a certain degree.
You just gotta show respect, and help out around the house. Not that hard.
Both my parents love me because what I just said. They even tell my other siblings now that I’m literally their fav (for those reasons).
That's f***ed up your parents guilting your siblings to be more like you, lol.
be expressive in your gratitude for all she gave you as a mother and forgive all that she was unable to
as you grow older show the curiosity to get to know her as a person and share your world with her through regular communication

Sure, every parent probably has a favorite. But it's really weird for a parent to explicitly say that to their other children...

Well, tbh my siblings are bottom tier. Like they’re actually selfish af, even though we give em everything.
I’m cool on them tho, when they start having to make they own bands, it’ll give em perspective.

My moms old as s*** & if she asks my lil bro for help (with groceries, cleaning, etc), he flat out just says “nah I’m cool” & then continues playing video games. He’s about to be 16. I was bringing money back home from wherever at that age.
Like you say that to your aging & weak mother? What if she hurts herself? I can’t comprehend that. He deserves all the smoke he gets from em.

okay that's valid. but her saying that probably makes him want to rebel MORE, especially at 16
Just be kind & respectful and do what she asks, It doesn't require a degree in rocket science

I’m very worried about him. I wasn’t rebellious at 16, but I did note that I had to control my anger way more (it’s natural, hormones, etc).
So I’ll probably want to tell my mom to cut that s*** off, and just lean on me till this mf at least 21. Don’t trouble him.

You know, I always wondered what rocket scientists/physicists actually say when they want to say that. Like do they say, “hey, it’s not music theory” or some s***?
