its the closest major Canadian city to me, where should i go?
Vancouver Island, Victoria specifically if you do want BC. Cheaper than Vancouver but its an island so you have to pay whenever you want to get off and want to explore the mainland. Vancouver aint bad there's some less expensive areas too, obviously homelessness is a pretty big issue here but just mind your business n you'll be fine
Canada is just like America with an undeserved smug of superiority
you guys have free healthcare and your conservative parties platform is more similar to our establishment dems party platform
Canada's pretty s***ty too though don't let the awfulness of US make it seem better here. Our government is a mess

i dont know what major to go into for tech, is it computer science?
Yeah it’d be CS. From what I hear tho, if you don’t graduate from a top tier school, you probably won’t be able to find one of those tech jobs that instantly start at 150k/y in Waterloo.

Yeah I understand wanting to stay in the West Coast. The weather is way less hectic in Vancouver too.
Imo, Vancouver is lowkey kinda boring but that’s my opinion as someone that grew up in Toronto If you’re East Asian, you’ll probably enjoy it.

Even our Conservative Party is considered far more left than the GOP or the Conservatives in the UK

its hippies, hobos, junkies, environmentalists and rich a******s. toronto is okay tho. Montreal is your best bet for "boring city" with good jobs and prospects.

Meh. They tend to still be morally conservative so they may not necessarily be okay with it, but they accept that those things are part of our country.
Gun ownership and culture was never widespread in Canada anyways, so we don’t have that big 2A debate.
