    For the pros

As a left wing person it does feel nice to live in a place with some communitarian values. Like out here no one was complaining about masks etc, you’ll get straight up roasted if u do

Also obviously free healthcare, the govt been paying anyone who was affected by covid 2k since like march
It wasn’t universal but still good policy i got like 7k.

It’s not a left wing paradise by any means but generally saner

Made this move OP and i plan on moving back lol

There are a lot of things canada does right but if you’re young and particularly a poc it’ll be a culture shock.

For starters there’s only 2 livable cities in this country imo (toronto and montreal) and both will still be a culture shock.

Im black so im speaking from that lens but we’re an actual minority here. Most poc are east and south asian so if you’re a person who grew up in a black american context s*** will take time to get adjusted to

Also There’s a lot of food options that just don’t exist here

If you’re the big goal setting type you won’t be making 6 figures right out of college here like you can do relatively easy with some hard work in the states also everything from rent to phone bill to groceries is expensive af

Also the weather is genuinely miserable. 0 degrees is considered warm

just curious why dont you think Vancouver is liveable ?

    That’s wild af to me

US culture can be super toxic

On the flipside I find canadians to be more insular and like just weird especially if yr a person like me even tho im left im still very introverted and individualistic and niggas here are “too much” for me.

    Imagine a country of karens

Canada sucks too lol idk why so many people think of Canada as some socialist paradise when it’s a violent imperialist hell hole just like the US

Nah it’s not socialist and noone ever thinks that

The social dem party is always the 3rd largest represented party cus evry one always votes liberal to avoid having conservatives in power

It’s more like if cali or mass became a country, it’s white liberalism.

that right-wing BBQ joint who refused to close, DIWALI festival gatherings. Christmas Parties, mofos showing up to shifts sick and positive. We are just as dumb as Americans, theres just 250 million less of us.

Honestly depending on how you live, theres some fairly decent prices between burnaby & yaletown. Obviously it can be pricey compared to Portland & Seattle, but its definitely liveable imo

    Wym?

  • Pinhead

I’ve spend a considerable amount of time in both countries

    Canada is definitely better

start with looking for a job. if you can show you have work or at least are trying to acquire some in will go a long way when trying to obtain a visa

Yeah I saw on the immigration site they let skilled workers come in & help them find jobs

  • goodkid mAAdposter

Yes Canada is better but the weather sucks. I will take a trash government in the USA for warmer weather. F*** cold ass winters.

Yeah I don’t care about weather I actually like the cold
