Voting for someone who’s actually looking out for our interests is just “throwing away your vote”? S*** is insulting.

F*** you if you’ve ever said that, and more importantly f*** the two party system.

We know that both the establishment democrat and republican politicians only exist to serve their billionaire donors and profit off of the general population like we’re their cattle, yet we’re just supposed to accept it and keep crawling back to support them every four years? Sounds like an abusive relationship to me

2020 we letting our voices be heard and voting 3rd party/independent instead of being forced to choose between two racist non-progressive murderous weirdos once again

I recommend the Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins

Yeah I’d be incredibly surprised if any of the people writing those “a vote for kanye is a vote for donald trump!” tweets are even aware of the existence of state-to-state differences in electoral votes

Hope we get some protests/riots that can actually have a tangible effect on the political system and our future legislation

normally i wouldn't care. but i think the main goal for anyone who isn't a conservative shill should be to get trump out of office. like it or not, biden is the only one who has a chance at beating him. i don't think now is the time to make this kind of political stance, voting 3rd party or sitting out. that can come later. to me, voting 3rd party, knowing damn well that candidate doesn't even have a chance, kind of says you don't care if Trump wins another 4 years.

  • Jul 15, 2020

Don't let @BA know but I'm actually somewhat considering voting for Biden.

I'm still undecided though and would never fault anyone for voting for Howie guy is amazing.

Gloria La Riva is another awesome candidate too.

True, I’m in Los Angeles so I know the state’s electoral votes are already going to Biden anyway. There’s no chance of Trump winning my state or even my county

I encourage other citizens in ‘blue no matter who’ states to also vote 3rd party so we can raise some awareness that we’re tired of this broken system that never fails to yield us s***ty milquetoast options like Trump, Hillary, and Biden

i respect your opinion but for me personally, getting Trump out matters a whole lot more than raising awareness when talking about this particular election

would probably consider voting third party in other elections and maybe even future president ones depending how i feel about the candidates

it won't raise awareness. not now at least. the dominant story is biden v trump. no one is really thinking about anything else.

i'd only see this being reasonable if you had two milquetoast candidates going against each other. this election, we have one milquetoast candidate against a proto-fascist. we would just be shooting ourselves in the foots voting for 3rd party.

My only fear is it seems like every year we hear from the Dems something like this:

"Don't vote Green this year we need to get Bush out of Office

You can vote Green next election but this year we need to beat McCain

You can vote Green next election but this year we need to beat Romney

You can vote Green next election but this year we need to beat Trump

My fear is in 2024 we'll hear You can vote Green next election but this year we need to beat (Insert Republican)

And in 2028 we'll hear You can vote Green next election but this year we need to beat (Insert Republican)"

Exactly, it’s just enough of a tranquilizer to keep us satisfied for the next few years, until the cycle repeats itself.

We need to strike while the iron is hot imo. There’s never been a better time, with everyone locked up in their homes, losing their jobs, living every day in fear. We need to channel that energy.

Hell just a month ago we literally had the biggest widespread protests in history. Who’s saying we can’t coordinate that again, and for a cause that can achieve much more of an actual effect on the way our country is ran?

Democrat supporters will openly tell you that Biden’s a s*** candidate. Even reasonable republicans admit that Trump wasn’t one of their choices for the republican nominee.

It’s like the problem is staring all these people right in the face, yet they’re still somehow unable to come to the logical conclusion that maybe the political system drawn up by a bunch of slave owners a few hundred years ago could have some holes in it

Kinda is throwing away your vote.
Personally I'm of the mindset that you don't even have to vote if you don't to and there is not difference in doing that as there is with voting for someone I know isn't even going to win.

Also the Two-Party system has it's pros and cons just like every other system of government. It's not as easy as "we want more options" or "we want people who have our best interest" .

We're dumb vote for who you want to. If you vote for Howie Hawkins your vote is for Howie Hawkins not Donald Trump.

But if you have celebrities telling their millions of followers to vote for Howie Hawkins then its entirely possible to convince tens, maybe hundreds of thousands to do the same. There were counties in 2016 where Trump beat Hillary by a few hundred votes
