If it happened at their peaks (Views/DAMN) hiphop looks different today

It would’ve played out the same no matter the year tbh

The outcome would probably be the same. Drake always makes beefs weirdly personal by mentioning rapper’s wives/girlfriends. It’s what made Kendrick and Push see red and aim for the jugular

I wonder if Drake would have still brought up the domestic violence allegations if the Pusha T beef didn't happen.

Following the Pusha beef I feel like Drake probably thought the best way to end Kendrick would be to follow Pusha's footsteps and reveal something people didn't know. I don't think Drake would have gone that far pre Pusha beef; I doubt Drake even had that much malice for Kendrick

  • BulletProof

Kendrick shouldve reuploded “bitch I’m in the club” 30mins after Drake dropped THP6

    😂

I think pre-2017 it stays just a lyrical battle but the Pusha beef just changed rap beef and Drake taking the pop-star route after Views really made Kendrick's angle resonate with the public

Though Kendrick was very intentional kicking off the beef after Drake's worst album

I dont think it ever stays lyrical with Drake. Even with Meek the ‘is it your tour or your girls tour’ line is bringing in partners as a gotcha. It just worked so much better tactically against him compared to Push and Kendrick

Drake would have still mentioned Whitney and s***, i truly believe that. Kendrick was even more secretive about her cos it was pre-morale so i imagine he would have crashed out even more lmao

  • Most likely the same. Although I find Kendrick to be better as time passes (which says a lot) name a year and let’s compare bars from each rapper. Kendrick would, no matter what year, take the mantle. Drake is an actor trying to play a rapper, which is unfortunate! Because he’s a great a pop artist and should have stayed in that lane. The quality we got this year from Kendrick would not have been the same if it happened sooner. But regardless, he would have won

  • Nov 29, 2024

2016 woulda been the best time for Drake to battle Kendrick

He really had his favor and rep in line with beating Meek and dropping WATTBA and Kendrick hadnt taken the superstar jump with DAMN. yet

  • Nov 29, 2024

interesting question actually. a lot of different factors changed.

  • Nov 29, 2024

i think it happened at just the right time. drake has gotten jaded and kendrick was directionless artisticly too. now kendrick has his little wave and drake has a little more urgency too.

Lmao this is true for push’s prob but Kendrick was always going to do that

We can say this but we’ll never know cuz bro always takes it there first

Yeah Drake could definitely potentially expose the infidelity if he knew about it, and the PDF jokes wouldn't really stick until like a year or two ago anyway

damn + bp kendrick is killin this nigga 10 ways with the most eyes on him of all time

One of the few knocks against Euphoria was that a lot of that s*** was old content repackaged in a funny, clever way. He would have leaned heavily into racial insecurity, morality, the way he treats women, etc. It wouldn't have been that different, just more difficult to sell.

I think euphoria was a great first song because it showed how much ammo Kendrick had

He didn’t waste a single bar across 6 minutes and covered basically every topic that he could’ve used against Drake

Family, race, morality, ghostwriting, the west coast, etc etc

    For some reason I don’t think Kendrick would’ve made any NLU’s and we would’ve got 5 MTG’s

    This, lol.

Honestly the best rap performance of the whole beef and he mostly kept it PG. Maybe the best warning shot diss track ever; it’s remarkable that you could even call a song that dense and insulting a warning shot, but he still had another couple gears of disrespect to go.

drake was groping underagers in 2009 so it would probably have ended up the same

This brings up that feeling of "blind rage" I kept getting from this battle. I just feel a lot was overlooked and the sensationalized was said

This story continues to develop and I'm on board to see where this goes

I had the same idea, he took the lessons learned from Adidon and tried to use that angle on Kendrick. He was desperate for a W after losing to Push and it being Kendrick made it even more enticing for him

Im aware but I think he also was going to and I think drake was as well

The euphoria part about his son was already mad disrespectful in the same song he getting “warned”

Drake Wikipedia bars on push ups didn’t change much imo
