Competition breeds innovation. It’s interesting how each region/city developed their own sounds and I think the loss of that has diluted hip-hops originality. Different flows, different production, different gimmicks, different culture overall. Think it’s a huge loss tbh

Regional isn't coming back anytime soon, international hip-hop is the closest thing we have to new regional due to language barriers

Yeah we got NY drill, Atlanta is a trendsetter but there’s a distinct new wave (Baby, Gunna, Keed), Detroit has the off-beat flow, Griselda has made Buffalo boom bap a mini trend, Cali has the bouncy Bay sound, Florida had the wave ski/x/denzel came from etc

Regional still exists. There's still a west coast scene, still a midwest scene, still a chicago scene, still an NY scene, florida, ATL etc.

You just have to look for it

It's only gonna get less regional over time
