he coulda given them random names and it would've been better than those numbers, what makes you think the tracklist isn't part of that whole artsy fartsy s***?
It seems like a non-issue to me. In fact, this overvaluing the meaning of a song title is actually, ironically enough, way more pretentious than the actual titling could ever be. You’re choosing to care about his titling, but the only thing I can assume is that he’s more invested in the music itself - not the packaging. And, if anything, that’s the opposite of pretentious “artsy fartsy s***”
Yeah, this is definitely one of those albums that takes time to digest. My first instinct is to say that it feels like Donald swung for the fences & came up a bit short, but there’s still a lot to love here. It’s highs are definitely some of the best moments in music this year so far.
People complaining should be happy the songs are separated (& titles) as is; it obviously could’ve just been (and seems intended to be) one 58minute track-as-album.
