I mean it's actually a bad move to make a mysterious tracklist like this. Every song will have a lower chance to blow up individually cause casuals won't remember the name of the song they want to look up again
THOUGHTS...
While “3.15.20” may seem grand in sound and elusiveness in presentation, this album throughout its hour runtime essentially amounts to nothing. I can compliment this album in saying it had decent at best ideas and you clearly hear that in the songs. However, when put all together in an attempt to be some experimental/groundbreaking thing is where this project falls apart. These songs have no reason to be as long and excessively self-indulgent as they are. You can bring in all the amazing producers you want in the world and your album can sound “nice,” but it’s so obvious when an artist is as uninspired as Donald Glover was making this thing. The repeated choir vocals and lyrical motifs which I guess are supposed to represent some “universal black themes” come off as very in-genuine knowing Donald Glover’s background. It’s like he wants the approval of a certain crowd, when in fact this will only be the soundtrack to Williamsburg residents. I don’t really have a lot more to say, but this was a pain to get through.
this is scary because it might be exactly how i feel about the album.
feels like summer is amazing tho idc.
ariana grande IS on "time"

I F***IN KNEW IT
Lmao there's not much to do with a project like this.
Would you like me to speak on the fictitious lyrics? Or the jumbled production? I can do all those things but it's just not very interesting.
These things don't really lead to projections based on the artist's past thoughts (i.e CAMP, BTI). While his views could've changed, I have no reason to feel other wise.
This sounds like someone who would’ve critiqued good kid maad city for the same reasons
i feel like the label is the only reason we got the album with separated songs
the fact that the one where its all one long song is on streaming and the song titles just being timestamps makes me feel that way

This nigga Gambino steady manages to be put on a pedestal for bad to mediocre music.
But he might actually deliver this time. Album is hitting so far. We’ll see if he can keep it up throughout the whole album.
Favorite part is when the acoustic guitar comes in on Vibrate. Specifically the slide after “they don’t know what there missing”
tbh if prince was alive he'd probably hate this album
And how would you know that?
