Idk he liked Time a lot. Might be an 8 or higher
he should knowing his taste, but idk dude has weird opinions sometimes
Almost fell asleep to that song with 21, maybe it's just not my genre. Gonna listen to the rest now.

Seriously think this guy hit the nail on the f***ing head
most of this is what I've been thinking the whole time, just unable to articulate it
Can someone link me to the letter they're talking about? I hadn't heard about that
girl why is you lyin, why you mufasa
just a heads up, we are all in 2020 now. please join us
I hope yall don't raise hopes for a second album lmao. This is a great conclusion to his discog. Still good ol' donald at the end of the day.
“Donald Glover presents 3.15.20, his first full-length release under Wolf+Rothstein/RCA Records”

Just saying.... I believe this is simultaneously the last Childish Gambino album and first Donald Glover album.
I see. End of era then most likely
But I will be happy as long he continues to make music. I feel like his talent has no ceiling either, he can take it as far as he wants to
sounds about right
my favs are 19.10 and the last one
Don’t even know with the new names lol, gotta give it another listen soon.
I'm not sure if I've ever heard an album that benefits from good headphones more than this one. The difference between listening to this on my crappy earbuds at work vs my AirPods Pro at home is actually astounding. The little details in the instrumentation are phenomenal
i think hes talking about why go to the party
There’s some weird jazzy chord changes yeah but I dont hear a part where the vocals out of key

it sounds like the most perfectly cooked steak

Dahi, Ludwig and Bino cheffing up perfection

yh it just sounds a little awkward at times, think the "Planets never see a day that isn't towards the Sun" part in particular

just sounds like hes singing in a minor key to me

he ended up putting it in the meh section for his weekly track roundups smh
just sounds like hes singing in a minor key to me
nah theres a really brief modulation halfway through when hes saying that, it sounds a little weird
is it just me or was the whole project hitting differently when I assumed Violence to be ~track6? the final tracklist doesn't sit right with me for some reason. not that I can't rearrange it myself but I was wondering if its just me
Nah no way, him ending his potentially last album with a love song doesn't make much sense, Under The Sun is the perfect closer
i feel the same way. "we are" gives me a strange sense of anxiety that i cannot quite describe. it might be the breathing and the reverb of the distorted vocals. this album makes me feel like that several times throughout.
exactly
This album has a dark ass creepy undertone that genuinely gives me anxiety when I listen to it
There's a contrast between pure euphoric bliss and this underlying darkness that's so f***ing unsettling and it breaks through in Warlords
the constant heavy breathing and the sounds of screaming is f***ing terrifying
yeah I said this the first day I heard it something sounds mad disturbing in this album
Honestly one of the worst first listen experiences I’ve had since the big day. I get why some of y’all like it but this is definitely not for me. I liked a lot of his last projects too, just disappointing
Maybe the best listening experience I’ve had in years. This blows his last 3 albums out of the water, I think it will be his first album to have universal critical acclaim. It’s like the best parts of camp, bti and aml in a very concise 12 tracks. the audio design and production quality are unbelievable, in terms of a technical standpoint, the beat making is so intricate. it’s a huge step forward. I think in terms of Donald’s vision, it’s a masterpiece. Not surprised that Ludwig worked on this after working on black panther because that album also featured lots of weird sound design that creates a bit of anxiety in the listener. My question is, why such an informal release? The album cover and album title almost remind of some rap songs, a very laid back approach to presentation.

Coming from a clearly MASSIVE Gambino stan, I was not really big on this album first listen. It's a lot to digest and process. I thought it was okay, but it really clicked with me after my third or fourth listen (and as I said above I think good headphones are imperative too).
If you want to be done with it, fine, but in my experience sometimes it takes a few tries to understand more complex / intricate music. Similar thing happened to me with TPAB.
