Anyone doubting if he still has his talent needs to listen to the Come to Life freestyle and listen to him piece together almost the entire song in just 10 minutes

The producer posted the instrumental because it was given to lil b
Both projects are good but not truly great to me. I think most KTT users could’ve produced Daytona just as well in all honesty, that’s some easy mode boom bap s***
And yeah I’d agree that most of the same stuff applies to drake but even more so to Ye for me. Plus drake’s peak wasn’t as high as Ye so it’s not as much of a disappointment
Whoever can produce Games We Play and Hard Piano on here let me know & I'll connect him to some important buisness niggas I know in the Bayarea pronto

Its wild cuz production is the most acclaimed thing on Pusha's solo projects since Wrath of Caine with Blocka lol
Sure people complain about the same coke mode over and over but no one besides hurt Drake stans here complain about his beats, not even on twitter or irl
Classic Kanye keeping the weakest bars on lotp
It makes sense at least now knowing the OG had more lines bout his mom tho just wish he kept em on

The production is gassed because it’s Ye. I honestly feel like the sound is a little bit dry personally, and it’s some pretty basic sample work. And particularly the What Would Meek Do beat just isn’t very good
We'll just have to agree to disagree with Daytona.
Also, why would those other albums you brought up make Daytona any less of a great album? Bandana also being a great album doesn't take away from Daytona in any way. You're just grasping at straws now lol.
Also, Believe What I Say sounds far more like TLOP era Kanye than the "old Kanye." And Come To Life definitely doesn't sound like anything from Kanye's older music.
I was naming albums that I think are better because you said it was top 10 of the decade or whatever and I think there are a lot of better produced albums

That's fine but you were the one who said Kanye didn't make anything great past 2016.

Yeah I think the production on that album is a little less than great, especially considering the high bar of production for the decade we’re talking about

That's not a consensus opinion though.
If you said that about Ye or hell, even Donda, it'd be more understandable but Daytona literally was deemed a great and well produced project by everyone when it came out.
To say otherwise is revisionist history lol.

Is it really a consensus opinion that Daytona is a top 10 produced record of the 2010s? I hadn’t heard that
But even if it is, Where did I say it’s a consensus opinion?
How is me saying how I feel about the beats revisionist history lol? Seems like maybe you buy into the whole “online consensus” thing too much which is exactly the type of thinking imo that leads to Daytona being so praised. It was the right album at a moment for a new breed of hip hop fans, I really just don’t believe that it’s praised because the production is fundamentally better than any of Ye’s other recent works, the project just lined up in a lot of ways and pusha did his thing. The production is decent but mostly unremarkable and only notable for giving Pusha room to shine
I get that Daytona gets a lot of love from the new age hip hop fans but that doesn’t make the project prestigious to me. Just beat for beat, it’s not a top 20 production piece of the 10s and I don’t think that’s a major hot take or deviation from some established consensus.
Ye hasn’t done anything great since 2016 and it’ll stay that way I’m afraid

What ur here for
!https://youtu.be/xZnW2fM-LtQ?si=neC9LP_TVRuX7ZsMDid Carti just say "I could have been down with Satan" Like he isn't demonic asf
I could see what you mean by the mixing but I think the production aesthetic on there is probably the most futuristic sound Ye has done, I think the final execution was a little off in various ways (as with everything post Yeezus) but I see what he was trying to do with that album, it’s a very clean, utopian, Apple version of minimalism, it definitely sounds like an iPhone. Donda was a continuation of that but felt a little bit blander in sound selection to me
His most forward thinking records are easily 808s, Yeezus and JIK
You described the JIK aesthetic perfectly

If you wanna argue that Kanye hasn't dropped a great body of work since 2016, sure but saying he hasn't done anything great is just hating ass s***. He's not consistent as he used to be but Kanye still comes out with some great s*** every now and then

Its cool, but it reminds me of my one problem with Come to Life
His voice don’t got the range
