If someone is on welfare they have negative value. If you earn a thousand times more than a janitor or teacher, then you are a thousand times more valuable.

This is the most stupid f***ing thread ive seen on this site

    And thats saying something

This post is being contextualized under the societal framework of capitalism. So while you’re right in that humans have no inherent value outside of the money they MAKE, you’re talking about how much money they OWN in your posts.

A billionaire isn’t MAKING their billions through their own labor, they simply OWN the labor, and thus profits, that their workers contribute under their company.

Even though I MAKE my company $150 an hour in profit through my labor, I walk home with the $15/hr that they decide I OWN. The value that I’ve produced is vastly higher than the value I now own due to the fact that I do not own my own labor

There’s an inconsistency in your posts that I hope you see here. And it is an inconsistency that means that your a***ysis is only possible under the system we exist in, while engaging in the inconsistencies that this ideology puts forth. These statements of value aren’t inherent in the way that you’ve made them.

Tesla a great point. Weird guy living in a tower married to an actual bird with no money but he developed the alternating current electric system. Does he have value?

    Performing labor is creating value

Shoveling s*** is creating value. Obviously not the same as being a scientist discovering forms of electricity but creating that value through your physical labor means you have created value to contribute forwards, and are thus of value.

No, because he did not make money from his ideas. Ownership is power. Ask Bill Gates of Microsoft or Larry Ellison of Oracle. But don’t ask the guy who claims to have invented the world’s first computerized spreadsheet. Last time I heard, he was living on welfare in a homeless encampment somewhere in San Francisco.

I agree that all forms of labor produce value. And beyond that, value is an abstract concept that can not be put into some “has” or “has not” category, especially for something like “value” of a human life.

Op just got a wild viewpoint that I wanted to see elaborated
