Damn, it’s true. People who aren’t used to hot weather die easily when it spikes a bit. I feel like melanin & ethnicity/genes might also play a big role.

Some of my friends raised in Canada literally cry, stay indoors or pass out around 30c.

That s*** candy money to me for some reason. I’ve drank chai tea outside in 40c weather, knee deep in a third world country and just scratched my nutsack. I was also wearing a suit at this time.

    40 degrees on its own

    40 degrees with humidity

if u from south ontario 30 degrees isn’t too crazy

just gotta do your part at living an eco-friendly life, convince others to do the same, and live your life. also demand and maybe riot and maybe protest the capitalist system that caused this. but if not the last point, then the previous ones.

The amount we do ourselves is a drop in the pond compared to the waste that actual companies make.

Like theoretically, the way we consume today should not f*** us over. It's the production to make that consumption possible is f***ing us over. Plus, companies promote that s*** to make more money.

"Do your part" and "reduce your carbon footprint" are PR campaigns created by the corporations that are actually responsible for the situation, in an effort to shift that responsibility to everyday people.

Just like the entire recyling industry is responsible for absurd amounts of waste because its a bullshit PR campaign that promotes the practice of throwing away plastic products and buying new ones so the corporations that manufacture them can increase profits. For a while after plastics became mainstream, people would keep their bottles, bags, etc... and reuse them because they never broke down and could be washed. Thats a problem for the plastic industry.

This facts tho but it’s always been easier to attack the person next to you instead of Big Brother

much of it is about adaptability btw. how heat tolerant you are. your body physically changes when subjected to regular heat, one of the ways it does is by creating heat shock proteins that help to keep your body functioning under the added thermal stress.

like I grew up in a desert I love the heat 35-40c is pretty standard stuff for weeks in summer and I thrive in it. but im young and naturally drink a lot of water and am adapted to this environment. and im like white white

Im sure theres some genetic component though like you say, ancestors living in hot conditions are gonna breed people that are better adapted to heat, thats just natural selection n evolution n s***

but yeah I think age is a large factor in the fatalities as well so if you got elderly family or know ppl who do you gotta start spreading this knowledge and default to always checkin on em when this big heatwaves come thru
