So at the age of 27 I've finally achieved some form of mental stability and no longer want just a decent paying job. I want to find something I can do for the rest of my life while having time to work on my hobby. I'm stuck between HVAC and just getting my CDL.... I know automation might be coming soon but something about being on the road seem peaceful. Anyone got a CDL or HVAC and want to offer advice?
Don’t do meth
HVAC
whichever one that makes sense for your lifestyle, trucking will end up becoming your identity though if you get your CDLs lmao
CDL
makes more money generally and a larger range of jobs you can pick from
This is what CDL niggas tell me but CDL people only know CDL

Facts, they all look the same too lol
i'd only go CDL if you going for hazardous certifications and doing in-state work only
would be soul sucking to drive across the country endlessly, spending so much time away from friends and family. imo anyway

My g I honestly don't think I have one friend anymore, haven't talked to anyone in like 2 years.... My family straight, we all like being alone so I have nothing to come back to... Thanks for the tip tho, is that an extra class or something?

fair enough
and yeah there's levels to CDLs. some allow you to transport more things, often more dangerous things, and get higher pay

do you wanna start your own business with HVAC?
if not then your ceiling is pretty limited
Have multiple friends in HVAC, they love it and think it's better than the trades they did before (mitigation type stuff)
Also yeah don't smoke meth that's legit a big problem in both fields

Idek if I like HVAC that much, I used to actually really like plumbing but seeing s*** make me throw up on first glance. I'm just on HVAC cause it pays more and the only trade you're not really risking your life

What about weed? I'll do Adderall before I even think meth... You ever smelt that s*** burn? Almost worse than crack

Oh they smoke mad weed all day. Well one had to stop cause he racked up duis but he's going to go back to smoking after sober court
Adderall is nothing that's fine I used to take those too. I just met too many ppl in trades who did Tina. One dude I worked with made me do a hot rail, never again

Plumbing supposedly makes less these days than HVAC. Idk if that was a friend coping or what tho
Also you do get used to sewage and s*** fast. When I was in mitigation I had plenty of jobs where I just walked around sucking up sewage before the plumber could come in lol was awful at first then it was nothing

Idk if something on my record that's preventing those HVAC companies that train you on the spot from hiring me. Cause I get the interviews and once background check come s*** go south. Are you in America tho? Because meth is only big in certain regions here

Yea America and that's fair all the meth dudes I knew actually came from a specific county thats well known for meth. Ironically I grew up there too
There's other companies out there that will cross train you on a bunch of s*** like roto rooter or service professor as well. Then you get to pick your specialization and what not
HVAC, Plumbing, Electrician. Commercial and service wise can be great money. I do commercial plumbing. Company im with pays for my schooling and they’re putting me in supervisory classes and cross training in pipefitting/hvac to become a general superintendent. People mis underestimate trades. You can find a job anywhere honestly if you’re in a trade.

True but how many hours you working?
Everyone I see working in the trades looks like 10 years older than they are starting at like 30.
