Lust makes people ignore the risks, and act purely based on sexual desire. So, willfully or not, people end up having kids with partners they sought after because they were sexy, rather than partners they sought after because they were good people.

I've always been an advocate for sexual freedom and the separation of fulfilling sexual desire from reproduction..but its an interesting discussion.
