I want a cat. But i also loathed owned a dog as a kid, having to take it out constantly. Couldnt make plans without going back to keep it from s***ting everywhere. Now my gf wants a dog and im trying to convince her to want a cat and she’s halfway there but im still concerned as a night shift worker on being available enough to care for a cat. I also wish it was easier or more reasonably priced to buy specific breeds like a british shorthair. Most cat adoption places dont even care to try to pinpoint what breed a cat is and just call them all domestic shorthairs

A cat is more independent than any dog, it also depends how needy the cat is/gets accustomed to while growing. As long as you spend time with your kitty when you get home, it's alright for them, they need their own alone time.

I believe a british shorthair is very easy identifiable, so you should be able to know if there's any of them at the shelter.

I havent seen a single one, i assume if there ever is one its adopted on SIGHT or potentially even kept by the ppl running a shelter. It’s like the yeezy of cats. I might need to work at a foot locker, I mean, animal shelter to cop one

Honestly get a chill dog breed that doesn’t require a lot of exercise and can be easily trained.

My dog only ever needs to go out in the morning and evening and never poops or pees because she’ll hold it to pee outside.

Cats and dogs are the easiest to handle they like the beginner level among pets. Supplies are widely available too. The most basic litter box can handle two cats cuz they small

Even better if you teach them potty train to use toilet
