I’m now in a mental place of trying to find inner peace and freedom, this album is all about peace of mind and dealing with feelings and pain openly, it’s very intimate and musically, feels simple but complex as Earl plays with songwriting and song structure, in a way that every song feels like only an idea, but a creative idea with personality. I guess I didn’t really LISTEN to it and in my mind I was like: this too different, I don’t like it, instead of thinking more about what this is, what it is about and who it is for. The lyrics here are poetic, a lot of beautifully written songs like “Azucar” and “The Mint”. I also f*** with the Slums sound and the movement they’re trying to start. They’re one of the most refreshing music collectives in recent time. Anyways it’s a great album and Earl’s best and I hope he sticks to that sound.

Such an amazing album, full of bars and flawless production. Earl really outdid himself with SRS.

Great album. It might sound depressing but yeah it's actually healing music. It's almost saying "yeah things are really as bad as they seem, but that's okay"

  • Sep 25, 2020

Yeah I thought it was super weird and the unorthodox raps and the pockets he was in, the beats, everything was weird to me for a long time but I listen to December 24th into Ontheway now and I’m like

it's always weird when people say this for SRS when it obviously has a structure and a concept lol

and even if it was just rapping over beats can that not be genius? lmao
