Cuz there’s a lot of connection between being sexually violated and that leading to being sex-repulsed which leads to asexuality. Like, a lot. That affirms to me that asexual folks choose to be so. Like to me it’s a lifestyle choice. Not that there’s anything wrong with it

oh yea im sure those folks chose to get sexually violated yea

    makes sense

they should just choose to enjoy s***huh amirite

the original reason that gay rights groups existed and that there was even any form of coalescing identity classification was because of solidarity in a shared struggle for rights. this is why it doesn't make sense to classify asexuals with other groups here. it's not just classifying people for fun and for the hell of it, it was a classification done for meaningful sociopolitical reasons. what rights don't asexuals have?

    MR MUCUS

"Not being born with" isn't the same as "chooses to be"

Fr he even says how being the victim sexual assault has an impact on that obvious not a "lifestyle choice"

And asexuality is not a disorder or sexual dysfunction btw

in most countries non-hetero ppl have all the same rights as hetero ppl, at least on paper. the same way black people have the same rights as white ppl on paper. Obviously, there's still plenty of racism in America. Obviously non-hetero ppl still face struggles as well.

I outlined this on the last page but the idea is that society is built almost entirely around the assumption that everyone enjoys and participates in hetero sex. It doesn't take a genius to realize that not enjoying or participating in hetero sex, no matter the reason, makes you an outsider, and with that can come problems. As straight people its sometimes hard for us to see how big of a deal not being straight can be, but yeah man not fitting in can really make life difficult sometimes

the point is, everyone who doesn't do straight s***is outside the norm, it makes sense for that group of outsiders to band together no?

dont be glib, u know what i mean. unfortunately alot of asexual people have had terrible/traumatic things happen to them that eventually lead them to being sex-repulsed, which in turn leads to asexuality. rarely is someone like 'u know, for no particular reason i dont like s***and dont get h****, and nothing will change that.'

if people can identify as not that h****, I want to identify as very h****

these things aren't rights though, they're just social traits. it's not the same as something racial like black vs white because the scope of relative structural reaction is far different - but even so, things like "not getting rejected on a job application for being black" could be argued to be a right, or at least argued to be important for median equality, saying "i don't want to feel guilty for not participating in the same sexual habits as people around me" is not a right, and i can't see any argument for one?
No one is lynching asexuals or making it illegal for them to be relationships or writing laws against them making it impossible to go to some countries. I'm not saying people like this don't exist or feel different, but lots of people feel different from the supposed societal norm or are like outsiders - that has nothing to do with rights and conflating the too is a huge error. The point of rights groups isn't supposed to be for arbitrary societal acceptance, it's literally to fight for rights.

Niggas just want the right to not f*** in peace. Think about that every time you tell a poster to go get some b****es. Maybe they don't want b****es. Maybe they don't want anyone, and you're being insensitive, assuming they want sex.

I think u completely missed my point

I agree there's not rlly any rights asexual ppl are deprived of (afaik)

I'm saying that there's still social stigma and issues asexual ppl face as part of the larger group of folks who aren't cis or straight. Why would u want to exclude them lol. "No u haven't had it hard enough so u cant stand with us" do u not see how counter productive that is. I'm not asexual but im sure asexual ppl still deal with s*** for not fitting into cis/straight society.

I've never actually seen anyone argue for "asexual rights" or whatever so I rlly don't think we need to spend much energy going "asexuals don't need to make a big deal abt rights or whatever"

bro said he didn't know anything about asexuality so he learned from an instagram infographic and is now making descriptive claims about every single asexual person in existence
