It has been out for a longer period of time therefore it had more weeks to sell
I was joking about the cigs but maybe I wasn’t so far off
jheez you really are dumb lmao. It's selling more weekly dumbo, not in total sales.
Kendrick Lamar’s original debut album was TPAB. That shows that commercial success was never his main priority as a rapper.
The album tried to be DAMN and TPAB at the same time and ended up being neither and satisfying no one completely.

Speak for yourself. It’s better then DAMN and it satisfied plenty of people.

His debut was either Section 80 or GKMC how you look at it, definitely not TPAB
crazy cause I feel like it’s the most special but not necessarily the best if that makes sense
About to spin it again, thanks OP.
I LOVE WHEN YOU COUNT ME OUT

Well it's not having the commercial success of DAMN or the fan/critical acclaim of TPAB

TPAB was originally supposed to be his debut, but he was unsure of himself at the time so he temporarily vaulted the project. He said this in an interview back in 2015.

kendrick’s an independent king now
Universal ain't offered him the premium deals they gave to Weeknd and Drake?

I can see this but i still really liked it
This thread is made about literally every major album release and it’s so lame.

Too much of a financial liability

How the f*** is this trying to be like TPAB

if he said this he was lying

1. It didn’t reach DAMN numbers but that’s because bundles aren’t really a thing anymore and it had no singles before the album aside from The Heart Part 5 which was clearly not supposed to be for the charts. Still the highest selling rap album first week so far this year and unlikely to be topped by anyone aside from Drake.
2. It received high praise just like TPAB did. Not quite reaching the height of TPABs reception, but that’s because TPAB is one of the best reviewed albums of all time.
Just say it ain’t for you next time because that’s totally fair, but to act like no one liked it or it didn’t appeal to anyone is at best ignorant and at worst stupid.
