Part of The Weeknd’s appeal is also his thematics for his music projects. He really does build an entire atmosphere/ world for his albums that tie into the music. most artists don’t really do that, and if they do, usually they over complicate it so it can seem more artsy and “the listener can believe whatever they want to believe” which is the oldest excuse in the book for lack of a solid concept

those are my 2 cents though.

as for as the actual music, it’s not as amazing as it was before yes, however it’s still enjoyable for me atleast.
