I'm a business major, I'll probably end up as a marketing graduate (because I f***ing detest Accounting, Econ, and anything to do with Maths).
I don't like my degree, but I've already dropped out, found there was nothing else that interested me and I just ended up going back to college to finish off my business degree in a college that allowed me to avoid the mathsy side of things.
I'll probably end up with a marketing degree but I find marketing sort of sleazy and manipulative..
I don't want to work construction, I spent a couple months as an apprentice electrician - it was s***.
I don't necessarily want a typical office job either.
So f*** me, what am I left with?
I want to do something creative, that's always been me.
The only thing(s) I can really think of are tattooing or maybe cutting hair.
Tattooing appeals to me more than barbering.
Beyond that I'm lost.
Tattooing and barbering can make good money dude. If that’s your passion, follow that.
You’re still mad young dude, now is the time to take risks before you’re 30s and 40s.
Why the hell did you go to college at all lmao
If u wanna be a tattoo artist you better build the f*** out of your portfolio

Dude not everyone knows what they want to do and most parents tend to push kids to college regardless of whether it’s a good move or not
This is so eerily similar to me. I dropped out for 3 years and just started going back last semester. Worked a s***ty trade and hated it (2 actually) . Switched from buissness to psych way back because I f***ing hate math lmao
I kinda fell into ABA therapy and LOVE it. You could easily get into it. Pays well to start off and you can grow far into the field with or without a grad degree. Don't need to be a psych major at all, just need to be able to take the kids. Very creative and technical tbh

Fair enough but man went back a second time like huh? For marketing?
im a year and a half out and i still don't know what to do
im just paying off loans even though I'm probably pursuing a completely different direction
College a waste of time if ur not trying to be a engineer, lawyer or doctor tbh

might wanna look into front-end development. no advanced math needed there.
at my old job our marketing department had a couple guys, and they mostly did graphic design work (company logos and redesigns and s***) plus some front-end work.

Nah plants is actually right here
there’s NO point of being in college if you aren’t sure in what you wanna do
and I’m a big advocate for college, but just taking classes without any clear goal is a waste of time, money, and resources
College a waste of time if ur not trying to be a engineer, lawyer or doctor tbh
this isn’t true at all
maybe if you just go through the motions and do the bare minimum
but you get out what you put in
if you don’t make anything out of your college experience that’s on you

too many off yall use this weird ass argument in this sxn
its like yall have a pre-modern understanding of majors and careers. There's tons of topics and subjects people are genuinely into that college would help with. and not to mention those who want to become higher up scholars
it can also still be a waste of time doing those options because all of them still require more schooling afterwards and tons of time for second guessing
Do one of the following:

it’s a pretty good argument in the sense that 99% of people go to college to make money later on and those jobs are some of the highest paying ones

maybe i'm having a much different college experience than some of you all but I've seen a lot of people definitely get more out of finding a love than chasing money that's not promised
chasing the money without the passion doesn't put you at the top of the list to getting the higher paying jobs in those professions.
Like even with lawyers especially thats such a dangerous toss up if you don't end up in a top school that will secure you a job. There's more lawyers than high paying jobs by far. Have a brother getting paid unreal money out of school but it took him going to a top 4 law school in the country. And then with that and medical school you're stacking up debt too.....like you still need to love what you're doing in the end for college to be worth it...not whether you are entering a certain job. Rando lawyers and doctors aren't making much and some are broke
college being worth it in the end depends on what you're putting in and if you genuinely want to be/grow there. There's lots of jobs college is essential for in 2020 and definitely tons of high paying jobs that aren't those
Why the hell did you go to college at all lmao

I ask myself the same f***ing question..
I only know I went back because I worked construction and realised I didn't want to do that for the rest of my life, I assumed I'd need a degree, so I went back to a degree whereby I'd only have 3 years instead of 4, and that I know isn't too difficult..
Basically just saying 'I'll get a degree for the sake of it'.
day by day, not everyone knows what they want in life
plus this push from social media and seeing people telling you you HAVE to chase something is crazy and it's scary in this day and age to say that you don't wanna do nothing
you'll figure it out, we all do
i took a 5 year break between high school and college because school is trash and i didn't know specifically what i wanted to study. now i'm prospering with a 3.7 gpa and an internship that looks amazing on a resume.
this isn’t true at all

Exactly, a lot of people dont get s***. cheat their way through out college with C's get a bachelors in science and dont know wtf they wanna do after.
also it's lowkey a blessing that i'm a nerd that enjoys computer s*** because i don't know what else i would be doing.
Do what you love. Trust me. If you f*** up you can still turn every single thing around now.
Take the risk. Its worth it
