yes that includes mbdtf but we all know that’s beloved however i feel like it’ll come to a point where kanye’s other albums such as yeezus, tlop and 808s will get the same classic status as his other albums. i’ve been scrolling through old forums and did a bit of asking around regarding how people thought of mj during the 2000s and it wasn’t as positive as it is now. i feel like with a lot of time kanye’s catalogue will be looked at the same by people in general same way mj is looked at now
i feel like 808s has that "classic/influential" status already... i know for a fact the general public really like pablo, people are also gravitating towards yeezus a little more these days

808s is only called influential irl from what i’ve seen but i think most people only rock with heartless and love lockdown but i think over time it’ll be given the classic status as well as influential. yeezus is getting warmed to by everyone i can think of i think that’s gonna get love like mj dangerous album. pablo could get classic status one day too off the strength of nmpila real friends etc

This post sent me on a tangent of reading the Wikipedia page for Dangerous. Was concerned I was having a stroke when I landed on this paragraph:
“In 1993, following several personal and promotion aparences album sales for Dangerous in a significative way. Following Jackson`s perfomance in Bill C***on Inaguration, sales gain 36% and the album jump from 131 to 88 on the week of February 6, 1993. In the next week, sales increased 83% and the album jumps to 41 following his aparenced on the American Music Awards 1993 wich he won 3 awards. Sales incresead 40% in the following week due the historics ratings of the Halftime Superbowl perfomance and the album jumped again form 41 to 26 on the Billboard 200. On the week of February 27, 1993, album sales increased again because the strong ratings due "Michael Jackson Talks With Oprah" tv special, selling close to 60,000 units and jumping from 26 to 12. In the following week, the album finally come back to the top 10 in the Unted States. In August 2018, the album was certified eight-times platinum by the RIAA.“
I’ve never seen such a poorly written wiki article lmao

this reads so horribly wtf but that album wasn’t beloved initially people was saying he fell off after thriller and now everyone saying he the greatest after he died i mean i remember watching chris rock talk about how prince won the mj prince debate now everyone got fake love lmfao
i love pablo but that album ain’t like tcd where everyone agrees it’s a classic i mean one day but not right now i think some even still hate it
Its a classic to the new generation, who will grow up and remember it like others remember TCD
Most people that really know music already laud those as classics imo. They will undoubtedly go down in history and be studied for generations. The future “Classics of the 2010s” for the kids checking out music in like 2035 and looking at lists on the internet or whatever we have then

i think so cos mj used to have a similar narrative where the fell off after thriller / bad same with kanye who got mbdtf where he fell off. it’ll come to a point where people accept he one of the best
Nah 808 is recognized already
It’s only dust heads that hate on it and who cares about their opinion
Time is so kind to Kanye’s music. They stand the test of time. It may not be what people wanted, but they generally come around. Kanye is just years ahead.
808s, Yeezus, TLOP, and ye. pivotal albums that sound timeless.
