Everything about the album, from the planning, the secrecy until the first singles, the aesthetic, the sounds, the visuals, the costumes, the performances, etc are just mystical. I can’t even look at mfs in a red suit anymore without immediately thinking about the era.

The album arrived right as Covid lockdowns hit, and the album carried me (and I’m sure many others!) throughout the next few months with immaculate vibes. I remember driving to meet up with gyals late at night with Escape from LA playing in the car

I’m completely serious — this album is the closest thing we have to a modern Thriller. Not only does it have the most streamed song EVER ( ), it also has several other massive singles such as Save Your Tears. It has deep cuts, classic Abel, pop Abel, etc.

The album still sounds fresh. I still listen almost daily. How did Abel capture this lightning in a glass? What did we do to deserve this greatness?
