Some philosophies are timeless man lol
If you want to leave your footprints in the sands of time you’ll need some roughness and some dirt.
i strongly disagree with this sentiment, not everyone needs external guidance if they're raised right
What…? lol
kids raised deep in the social media era cant really introspect that well i think. like they're more concerned with how others view them than with how they really are on the inside yk? they watch those videos because they need to know how to perform their life rather than just living it. they look for those external sources to teach them how to be bcoz they're completely disconnected from any sort of internal compass
i been saying this many men are just performing dudes dont even know why they do what they do

Eh I gotta disagree. The ability to do these things at the end of the day comes down to a child’s ability to develop within the confines of a learning environment, influence of their parents and their development with intra/interpersonal dynamics.
Growing up in this social media era I think actually helps a lot more kids be able to have the ability to introspect as they are presented to so many of the concepts and ideas you and I didn’t become aware of until we were much older.
I can ask my 4-10 year old nieces/nephews a question and actually watch them try to work the idea around in their head until it makes sense. They also tell me stories and the way they go about a***yzing their social situations, it sounds way more grown than what I was doing at the same age.

I like this quote

Parents these days are less involved than they were in the past because now they have to work more hours. They're not being developed with love and care or learning these interpersonal dynamics. And just because kids have the tools in front of them to learn more and sooner than previous generations doesn't mean that they are. Their attention is being preyed upon by these corpos that only care about clicks and watch time, not actual education. Couple that with how our (speaking of america here) education system has been defunded and sabotaged for decades and you've got a generation of young children who can no longer even read let alone think critically of what they are exposed to.

Ask any teacher or parent these days. All this s*** is super concerning and really leading us down a dark path. It’s gonna be wild in 10-15 years to see the repercussions of all this
being raised 'right' was the external guidance bro lmao
yeah that's fair, I was referring to the swathes of people needing some kind of podcast, YouTube channel, or TikTok ideology peddler to live life "properly"

I think it’s the opposite really
I think most people my age (early 20s) overthink a lot about themselves to the point they search for external advice to see if their doing anything right in life.

you are the kids im talking about im afraid
honestly anyone my age and younger is the kids im talking about. like from the millennial generation down
you are the kids im talking about im afraid
But to say my generation doesn’t do any introspection is kinda wrong if you look at the whole scope of things
Like I think boomers fit this description the most because they have the most untreated trauma and subscribe to random ideologies the most

yeah boomers are dumb
Tbh I'm glad that I grew up before tiktok and Andrew Tate became a thing. I see their videos now and can recognize how full of BS they are. Unfortunately if I were growing up now I would probably be pretty intrigued with what they are saying.
Sucks for the kids of this generation tbh. They are going to grow up and be super screwed up in the head.

i feel u on that
Don’t see how you can say Scorsese was opposed to the concept of a Travis bickle when he was effectively portrayed as a protagonist who inexplicably gets away with all of the f***ed up bullshit he did and literally smiles as he rode off into the sunset
Such an overrated and stupid movie
???
Bro Travis was not meant to be sympathetic
The ending is meant to be ambiguous, but i think you're supposed to interpret it as the dying delusions of a thoroughly insane person

Boomers don't have any trauma that's why they're f***ing stupid
