If you paid full price for the album like you would have before streaming, I think you’d be a lot more pissed off that it’s mixed terribly and the songs are half finished. But because you get to steam it for free, people can say they think it’s solid and that it’s good for what it is. If I paid 10 dollars for this I would legitimately feel like I was scammed.

Nope not me. This album is top Ye for me. It’s mixed really well. Probably his best work in that regard or close. It’s under 30 minutes but has tons of good lyrics and more music in that short amount of time than lots of longer albums. Great melodies and overall outstanding instruments

You have a point tbh, that makes a lot of sense.
I still find it a rather weak album but I’d be even more pissed if I had to pay for it.

    probably true tbh

I legitimately feel like you’re trolling lol. There’s parts where you can barely hear what the vocals are saying because the rest of the instruments are too loud. Or the vocals are eq’d so badly that they’re changing the character of the voice

People really need to listen on quality speakers to get the full effect. Each channel/instrument has its own presence. Listened on a Samsung sound system, iphone, in the Civic, and soon on my Yamaha HS8s

I have a custom built all in 1 speaker system designed by a master speaker builder but built by someone else who is an masterwoodworker by hobby (he has a lot of hours older man). I can link you to Imgur photos if you want to see. We also have Tidal hifi and a DAC which can decode mqa so I can listen to the mqa studio recording of JIK to the full capabilities, I also use audirvana which is a program for macOS or windows 10 that cleans up the sounds for your music it works with streaming things like tidal and others, anyways, yes this album sounds great, this speaker system is very revealing so if something is poorly mixed or sounds bad it comes through. This album is one of Kanye’s best as far as the production mixing and mastering

Lmao then please explain why Kanye’s vocals are so thin on saleh or the songs constantly clipping because the mix is too hot, or the clicks you can hear at points on use this gospel because the engineer forgot to cut out the end of the takes on Kanye’s humming?

What about the drums you can barely hear in wolves what about x y z .. Mike dean and kanye know what they’re doing.. yes they make it clip sometimes.. if they want to they will fix it they have as long as they want. The overall mix sounds excellent I don’t care about a click here and there at all. It’s a computer big deal that’s like worrying about someone rubbing the strings on their guitar. It’s part of the live recording. I am not that nit picky

You guys if I have to have a specific speaker to be able to appreciate the album then guess what, you guys?

Seriously guess what I’m going to say next.

Let's be honest if it was full of dirty bangers you wouldn't mind about some clipping and you wouldn't write this thread

Ok so you’re saying you’re not picky but you also have an insane audiophile setup... I don’t get how that works? What’s a bad mix to you?

These are just some of the mixing errors on the album, and you’re essentially saying that it doesn’t matter and that it’s mixed well lmao.

Yeah link it. I’m interested in getting hi-fi streaming service like Tidal S-tier service, but also want a better turntable.

Since Ye said his team was developing a portable STEM player, it’ll be interesting to see how they start producing from here on out
