Honestly, I listened to the stream for this album when it first came out and completely did not fw it and cringed quite a few times... i went in with expectations but an open mind. anyway after hating on it i went in again with the thought of tryna see his vision for the album and it's pretty impressive.

as you know kanye is an artist above anything else, he's always innovating and doing something fresh and i feel like most albums are in some ways a collection of emotion and feelings but DONDA takes that to a whole different place and makes it a point to be that. if you listen with everything that happened over the last two years in mind you can truly feel the pain, freedom, glory & inspiration. Also People saying it sound like a dj khaled album need to keep in mind kanye uses other artist as instruments to convey his energy in ways he can't if you think about it

the album is a polarizing compilation of his feelings

as you also may know kanye has mental health issues and bipolar disorder which is why his music has always been so polarizing. i feel like donda really organized itself in a way that we can all feel what it's like. the emotional volatility on this album is absolutely insane and the part in "i'm losing my family" with kanye singing and the skit of his mom was playing that said "never abandon your family" really cuts deep. you can feel the anxiety, distraction, brokenness of that song. like this is seriously a combination of all his past albums and feelings. there is elements from every project in here which he all said were inspired my who? DONDA. kanye losing his mom was the biggest turning point in his life and this is a combination of everything he's been feeling since that happened and especially now since the divorce with kim.

"this is the new me so get used to me"

lowkey kinda 🍃 too so rip if the grammar is trash

Polarizing and unfinished are two diff things, those albums grew on people but they didn't have to come up with a theory to enjoy it
