Just pay regularly and get your score up. When you have a 700+ score you’ll be applicable for credit cards that usually offer 0% interest for a year or more.
Transfer your debt to your 0% cards and then pay a couple hundred a month for the next few years. It’ll take some discipline but it’s not the end of the world, you’ll get rid of it before too long.

Umm, that's how it works when you take out student loans. Even if your tuition is 10k, it's always good to get as much as you can and 30k is about right.
Some students work real hard to get scholarships and grants to erase that initial debt while others blow it clothes, cars, trips, helping roommates out, buying 3k Macbooks with a History major, etc.
