because this s*** is not for the people! lets start at the top: unless youre in EU or US youre not seeing even a tenth of all the cool drops hyped by the internet. first youre upset because you realize not only is there a huge competitive market for these things in their country of origin, but you also live in a place where no collabs happen and most local stuff is not what you like
from there you come to this: there're things like salehe crocs that are only available through exclusive drops for well-off young people super deep into this 'culture'. sure spunge is a one-man operation and I guess this on-demand system works well for crocs, but the fact that these will never hit the stores and become available for people not on the internet is also sad. like people dont dress up for many reasons, this lack of access to truly quality ideas is one of them. people dont care about fashion because they dont see good fashion or it appears too secluded for them
Im rambling and maybe just a bit disheartened but could there be a solution to the internet fashion becoming more globalized? idk
inspired by this post. I know I wont see these ever in my life for so many different reasons I had to vent
really liked that time when teddy santis went to Greece and started dressing old people up in hip ny s***. if there was more of that designed as some sort of regular campaign that would be really cool
Brother, be thankful your country isn't as subject to western consumer culture and all this bullshit. Having 20 different colors of rare sneakers will not make your life better and the only people who will care are nerds on the internet. Seriously

this is a good perspective and I want to assure you its not lost on me. mostly complaining from the consumer perspective, ill be fine with what I have anywhere I go
it’s not a culture, just simple supply and demand
brands don’t want to overproduce and making slightly less than the amount they can sell is pretty much free marketing
would you rather sell as much as you can right now and have that product be so flooded in the secondary market that you can’t sell anymore if you tried? or would you rather play the long game and keep your audience on their toes every time you drop something because they know it’s gonna sell out?
also beyond of all of that, a lot of these are just smaller brands to begin with and don’t have the ability to produce excess quantities

True but at the same time in a consumerism driven society where most hobbies are expensive and hard to access you're not left with much to do outside of work and taking care of your health
Yet you live in a country that is relatively peaceful and luckily find yourself in a better position than most of the world
It's both a blessing and a curse
