I really like that this site doesn't constantly s*** on it.
By far my favorite Drake album since wattba
Everyone loved this one from the jump tho, HNVM was much more polarizing
Ngl, I listened to HL once then went back to HNVM for like a month
Eventually, HL got its spins but....
I knew this album was not worth revisiting after my girl was like 'wtf is this s*** man?' with genuine confusion/frustration
I was thinking the same but didn't wanna say it first lol
Drake’s most interesting project by a long shot, wish he took more risks like this & actually polished it to the level of his previous projects
I always thought the only way a drake project could fail is if he did something super polarizing and different with the sound.
He did it and it ended up being one of his best 😮💨😮💨
Why would that fail. His albums have always been super polarizing

I am certain if he “polished” it it would have become mid instead.
The reason this album is good is because it’s lightning in a bottle. They made it and finished it quickly and you can tell, just like yeezus. Once they wanted to finish it they finished it.

I really like it but have no idea how you can say it's more interesting than nwts
I remember hearing/watching the full extended music video to worst behavior and just thinking Drake was such a visionary based off that alone

If I look at Drake’s discography, everything is pretty much the same old Drake formula
Honestly Nevermind sticks out compared to the rest

“Just like Yeezus”

I dunno man. Nwts felt revolutionary and I swear I'm not a fan. Felt like the peak of experimentation with the rap/rnb sound to me. Worst behavior just felt like it was a decade in the future
But I did just look at the tracklist and yeah you might be right that it was a big continuation of his sound just with some forward thinking tracks
Hnm feels like it spawned a sub genre with some of these new dance based dudes with those sharp bass hits
Edit I meant to say seemingly feels like it spawned a sub genre. I just was not hearing any rappers use that really punchy bass until after hnm I could be way wrong idk

NWTS is by far is best work and the closest to being a “classic” album for Drake, he mastered the Drake formula on there IMO.
I just find Honestly Nevermind more interesting these days, maybe because I’m fatigued by the sheer volume of music he releases

The album did not spawn a new sub genre. It’s literally just four-on-floor beats mixed in with other songs that are one instrument away from being a house song (put a kick on Massive).
For lack of better words, the album is just deep, melodic house with Drake vocals layered on top
A more interesting album is Big Fish Theory, that’s way more creative than HNVM

Understandable, close opinion to mine overall
I just fully view take care as a classic as well for all the cultural influence and impact it had. People are still saying yolo a decade later, I still randomly hear songs like the motto on a weekly basis when out and about, Marvin's room, etc plus the neat features like early weeknd and Kendrick
Iyrt is at least a cult classic but idk about full classic
Hnm is the one I hear the most lately
