My dad was in the military and didnt live with me the first 8 years of my life, lived in a different state

In 09 he moved back to our state and he had this album and we would listen to it front to back on the daily in the car, some of my first memories with my dad are to this album

“ after Insano (which is very good) i went back to some of my fav projects of his and i realized: i’ve never heard his first 4 albums”

I couldn’t imagine being a Cudder fan and never listening to MOTM1&2. That’s insane man

  • SaintJitterxburgFL

the only two i can’t get with are electrowavebaby (which is kinda growing) and porsche topless is absolutely horrible i’m sorry. terrible choice for a single

I like Porsche topless. It’s just fun. Beat is good and hooks and verse too.

Electrowavebaby is pretty chill I think, it’s like the only track on the album with its own vibe. Prob would hit allot harder if it was summer rn

Only tracks I didn’t really fw were A Tale Of A Knight and Rager Boyz, just felt pretty bland imo.

Top 3 though are Keep Bouncin, Freshie and Blue Sky

i never in a million years would’ve bet that cudi would be on a honorable c note beat but it’s f***ing great

i love mr. coola , blue sky , and funky wizard smoke is a great vibe

First time listen to MOTM has to be incredible.

First time I heard it I smoked some tree and played it on my iPod touch lol I was floating from the intro

i’m almost 23. early cudi albums came out when i was 8-9

Damn I’m almost 25 but I grew up on Cudi being a big artist, Day n Nite & Memories with David Guetta were all over the radio and tv

MOTM 1 & 2 are both albums that carried me through high school

Wish i could listen to MOTM1 first time ever again

Still remember when it dropped.... me and the homies were so hyped. We couldnt believe the Ratatat features

It was the beginning of the school year... That was the anthem that whole year and on rotation nonstop at all the parties.

    Lord take me back

  • I f***in love this album!

MOTM is damn near a different artist he was elevated on that album

It’s more of a cinematic album than the soundtrack he made

  • Sky Might Fall the most beautiful song to ever exist

The live strings make a strong difference, go back and take a listen it elevates the songs so strongly, like on the intro for example. They're done by Larry Gold, who also did strings on 808s & Heartbreak and MBDTF

dope article if you wanna read on his experience with hip hop, he did strings on flashing lights also redbullmusicacademy.com/lectures/larry-gold

  • regarding revofev sounding like dbr travis, for a while travis was clearly biting so hard on kanye and cudi but he was doing it well and genuinely that it was just fire music with some added darkness

  • Yeah motm 1 and 2 are just so special. Cool to be validated in loving them, I always wondered if it was just the people who grew up with them/heard them as they came out that love them

I don't really like insano and I think motm3 would have been received better if he named it something else tbh

I prefer motm2 the most but I get why that isn't the popular opinion
