thanks g. lemme know if u wanna choose the songs 1 of these days. i want community to be able to DJ. the purpose is few songs a bunch of people know and then 1-2 that only a niche audience would know to put people onto new stuff.

@OP is it hard to add new songs to the database? One of the issues I had with heardle was there wasn't many songs in the drop down menu

It’s honestly a little too hard. 4 of the songs today I’ve never heard before. For more broad appeal, you might want to look at top streamed/sales lists over the years for some of the choices and then throw in a couple of more obscure hard ones. Just my opinion

all the songs have 10's of millions of streams most 100's of millions on spotify. i'm going for different genres each day mostly. understandably if u only listen to a certain niche it'll be "too hard" on certain days, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be easy for people who listen to that genre on that respective day.

to clarify just today:

song 1: 429 million streams
song 2: 358 million streams
song 3: 270 million streams
song 4: 163 million streams
song 5: 4.3 million streams

i dont know what artists you listen to on the regular but those are mainstream numbers besides song 5 which was included in similar niche and to be a discovery song for people with the similar taste.

3-5 were immediate bailouts from the whip without navigating to an ideal location first. Passenger might have survived but I couldn't stand listening any longer
