i live in texas and they just drew up new maps a month or two ago for the 36 congressional districts in the state

i live in a very solidly blue district (like D + 25) that basically takes up the core of my city so i didn't bother to check if i was affected

however on a whim this morning i plugged my address into this apps.texastribune.org/features/2021/texas-redistricting-map

expecting to see no changes and discovered i was actually redistricted into a different district, R+4-7, with a republican congressman

Whats f***ed is im like literally a 90 second drive away from the border between new and old district, they went out of their way to put my neighborhood in

they f***ed up tbh now im gonna try really hard to get the establishment democrat elected in this district in 2022 solely out of spite

God gerrymandering in TX is so f***ed

Last year I moved an hour and a half north from Athens Ohio to Columbus, both very blue areas. Athens and the surrounding counties are rural and Columbus is very urban. Had the same Republican rep in both places

im on the far edge of my new district and the other edge is over 500 miles away lol

i went from a D+5 TX district to D+50 one, diluting my left vote like crazy. Straight took my block and added it to a snake map. Went from a relatively normal shaped district to one that looks like dan crenshaw's, spanning the center of ft worth to the center of dallas

F***ing disgusting. They should be protesting this bullshit
