  • Having similar formats/templates is what a meme is. Someone or a group of people started doing this, it spread on the internet, other people made more, here we are

Pretty sure that’s just the default text on meme generator @op then they just add a custom image, screenshot and repost, others repost, it loses quality, and here we are lmao

  • you sir have won the internet today

Usually pictures like this are screenshots of Tweets taken on a mobile phone with the username and avi cropped out. And also because this format is so simple, it's easy for meme pages to mimic and mass-produce without actually having a Tweet to source from. The hardest part would be finding the Twitter font Segoe UI which is pre-installed on all Windows computers

In a pic like this you can tell they didn't even crop out the original Twitter account's username/avi, they just painted over it in white using a basic photo editing app. That's why there's so much white space at the top

  • There’s a colony of tiny little people inside your phone, theyre the ones coming up with all this stuff

What the f*** so all these niggas use the light theme?
I've never used Twitter so I didn't know this was the posting format I guess but it makes sense now that I remember there are dark themed memes in this same format

some come from reddit, the older ones are definitly r/meirl - I think the weird face thing was from one of the more obscure s***post subreddits that eventually hit meirl when it was still a big subreddit

    then twitter and instagram

memes used to come from 4chan or tumblr, maybe some have roots there

it makes sense most of these come from Twitter now but I still think its weird that theyre always low quality, like screenshotting and erasing stuff does not reduce it that much lol
I mean more surprising than them being low quality is I've never actually seen a high quality one

That does just mean they're passed around a lot. Many people just screenshot instead of download and might edit away borders or usernames

One of those photos might have been screenshots and edited the username out 1000 times and that makes it look bad. Or it was sent across phones then re-uploaded after sending it lowered the quality (this used to be a big issues between iPhone and Android sending iirc). Maybe it was re-uploaded to Twitter then reddit then Tumblr thousands of times over, the quality can be affected a lil bit each time

So they look low quality cause they've been passed around more than a metaphor for a girl that sleeps around a lot
