his prod is usually more jazz influenced chord extensions and not minor s*** but its a pretty negligible difference

Weeknd’s production/chords/melodies/lyrics have literally 0 resemblance to specific songs MJ did most of the time beyond a handful of tracks (like the Dirty Diana cover or In the Night). Sure the voice is the most apparent element of songs so it’s more immediately noticeable that The Weeknd sings like MJ…but that’s where it ends

Bruno is making WHOLE ASS SONGS that are emulating other music. Does he do it well? Ofc but that’s way different from The Weeknd only having a similar voice to MJ
