My first phone ever, time flies

Mine was a Tracfone, then a Nokia, then a flip from Verizon then a Samsung Gravity S2 from T-Mobile (then we left cause they tried charging me for an expensive ass call worth 500 in another country to a number I don’t know to this day that I physically never made and physically wasn’t on my call list and I didn’t delete anything in my phone at this time so we had proof) then ended up with the Samsung Galaxy S4, AND Samsung Galaxy S6 both from Sprint, then 4 years ago due to personal reasons I got my first iPhone with the iPhone 7 …. I wanted the 8 but Sprint didn’t have it in Matte Black only Rose gold. Then 2 years ago I got the iPhone XR and Since October last year I have the iPhone 12 with T-Mobile 5G coverage.

How did this s*** even work.

You text the number and it charges your phone plan, then it installs the ringtone onto your phone automatically?

Couldn't you just drag and drop a file from your PC?

This phone was the last phone they made before they s***ted on their legacy.

Matter of fact, I'd say I may prefer the One M7 to the M8 in certain regards. They really dropped the ball after the M8 tho.

I waited so long for a worthy successor to the M7/M8... HTC was my go to brand for phones for a while, then they released the M9 and M10 which were mid as f***. I figured by like 2020 they'd be off the bullshit and have something decent, but naw they dropped the U11 Ultra Mid phone of the decade and then went defunct in like 2017...

I still have my One M7 and One M8 with their screens cracked and the original batteries

I'ma post a pic tomorrow of what my M8 looks like.

Thing is a f***ing tank of a phone bro. I dropped that phone so many times, it has deep gouges in the metal on the back n looks like it went thru hell and back, but in the end, my angry dumb ass broke the screen by smacking the phone against my shifter in my car because the phone was being slow asl (cuz my battery was degraded to hell, which I didn't realize at the time). Something I deeply regret...

One thing I noticed tho is that neither of the IR blasters work on the phones... I think it's the app cuz there's no good remote apps for phones with IR Blasters anymore... S*** is strange though, and saddening because I might not be able to repurpose them into Smart IR Remotes...

I used to troll my friends so hard with that s***, changing the channel, turning the volume up, turning off the TV

Hmm. I know there were USB ports on old phones, but never actually bothered to try and drag files, let alone connect it to a PC.

That s*** is crazy man I remember those commercials on MTV. I always wondered how that s*** worked. The f***in Crazy Frog commercials.

I remember those s***s were expensive too. It was like whole dollars for a wallpaper or ringtone.

I get why Apple, Samsung etc moved to making screen only phones but typing will always be better with buttons, no way around it

nah man this is just some nostalgia, that tiny ass keyboard is only good for typing if you have 3 year old hands

Blackberry sized phones weren’t too bad, I never had the Blackberry but I had a larger sized phone with a slide down keyboard that’s probably as big as my iPhone 7 keyboard
