now you know what to cop
Don't get me wrong, a good mic is always helpful, but half the battle is mixing my friend. Don't matter how good of a mic you have, if you can't engineer it to sound good it won't matter.
I use an MXL 4000 to record at home, but the sound quality was always garbo because I couldn't mix it right. I went to a studio and they were using some small little microphone from a brand I never recognized and these were the results because I had a good engineer.

I would suggest either learning how to mix or start paying a studio to mix your songs because the country about to shut down again in the fall/winter.
Oh, I know how difficult it is to choose a microphone. I also sing and have been making music for a long time. Over the years I have collected a lot of microphones and now I have a small collection. I realized that I like the retro sound more, and it suits my voice, although the new ones are also cool. If you need a microphone, it's better to check the manuals for them and so you can pick up what you need. For example, I really like the Behringer ULTRAVOICE XM8500 manuals. I have been using it for several years, alternating with other microphones in parallel. Completely satisfied. You can read more about it on behringer.manymanuals.com/microphones/ultravoice-xm8500 .
