As for straight forward rock I dont have any recommendations but for post rock/post metal Altar of Plagues - Teethed Glory and Injury is pretty good or for some mathcore stuff check out Converge's discography starting with Jane Doe or You Fail Me, I prefer the redux to the original. I cosign Kris's recommendation too
