Why do Americans have such an obsession with large white shiny teeth? I know we have a lot of teeth troubles here, but still! It's like the people who have bad teeth keep them bad and continue to put no effort into them, while the people with already clean good teeth just want to keep making them better! Are we trying to look like a shark? I mean, you don’t see me walking down the street and going, “Look at the big white shiny teeth on that guy! I'm so impressed!”. It goes more like - "Hey that guy has a huge smile! It looks like his mouth muscles are stuck there FOR GOOD!". It’s weird to me because in China, white teeth are the status symbol of a peasant.
